    Bow Box

Plans for this box were in the August 2012 issue of the American Woodworker Magazine.

This is a further chapter from my scrap bin. The box and the center stripe are red oak and I can't remember what the dark stripe is.

The ribbons aren't bent. They are cut out with a scroll or band saw. And, a lot of hand sanding.

This pic is after the first coat of poly. I am waiting for the hinge from Lee Valley.

Very nice!!! Id' like to see more photos when it is done, maybe some from the side or slightly above so we can see more detail of those cool ribbons.

Nice job, Steve. Could you elaborate on how you did those bows? Thanks.

Great work, very impressive. I would like to see pics from the side to see those bows. I would love more info on how you did those.

When I first saw the title, I thought it was going to be a box to store a hunting bow

I would be glad to answer any questions.

The first page of the article, is on the web. It shows the finished product and the way the bow is made.

Thanks for the link, Steve. Did you use a bandsaw or a scroll saw as the article suggested? Guess either would work. What woods did you use?
