I actually got paid for this

    My first commission.
This jewelry box was made for a Valentine's Day proposal. The engagement ring is placed in the tray with the door with the heart on it. Kinda cheesy, but sweet. I thought of it and considering I got married on Valentine's Day, I figured "Why Not."

The box is a bit more conventional for me, but it fits the buyer.
Woods used: Cherry, Crotch Walnut, Bloodwood, Austrailian Sasafrass, Maple.
I never throw away usable scraps.

Fantastic, Bruce! The Walnut is beautiful (Almost a shame to use on the bottom where it is almost hidden from view.) and the inlays are just enough to add visual appeal withou being overpowering.

Nothing surprising about getting paid for that beautiful piece of work, Bruce! Nor is it cheesy in anyway! I bet the person that it belongs to now is VERY happy (not to mention the buyer who looks great because of your work!!)

Wow, great work all the way around. I'm curious on something like this did the client present a design, or, did you work together on some ideas?

I always look forward to seeing your work. I wish I had the ability to design something close to what you do.

Not sure if she said the magic work yet, so far he's chickening out asking.

The client saw a sample of previous stuff and the only constraint was to keep the fee under $500.00, have it ready by Valentine's Day and not make it too weird. Now that's what I call either trust or not being too sharp.

@jing, if I can do this, anyone can, keep in mind, I keep injuring myself, which is a fairly good indication of how uncoordinated I am.
