    Zebra Box

The reason for the name is clear. I wanted to build a box with zebra wood but with relatively thin walls. The zebra wood wouldn't machine well enough (at least for me) to make acceptable corners. Thus, the 'zebra - column' box. Construction details of the columns will be shown in a later post.

The sides are zebra wood planned down to 1/4 inch thickness. Side columns are cherry; bottom is walnut and top is walnut and maple. Top and bottom were designed to look the same when viewed from the side.

Finish will most likely be spray lacquer (semi-gloss).

    Thanks for looking, Steve

Looks great Steve - grain and contrasting woods will really pop when you get this finished!

I didn't notice it wasn't finished until i read the text. It's very nice with no finish at all--should be spectacular with the finish applied.
