Thanks for the supportive comments, guys. Unfortunatley, I came home with everything I took up there. For reasons unknown the show was sparsely attended this year. The Woodcraft folks do a fine job organizing it, and I'll probably continue to support them, but I was disappointed in the outcome.
A number of the these boxes are from plans, however I've started to develop my own style. The boxes with the curved sides are a home-grown design and now include a simple brass pin for a hinge, so that design is truly mine. Other than that I try to let the wood tell me what to do. I try to use complementary woods, and the sizes are sometimes dictated by the lumber's dimensions. I usually look for 8/4 lumber in order to get the right grain wrap, so that can limit my choices sometimes.
The walnut humidor has an inlay of myrtle burl veneer. It's trimmed in holly and some sort of red tropical hardwood that I bougth for $3 for the stick.JRComment

If I had that much talent, I'd still wouldn't know what to do with it.
Beautiful work.In my old age I look back and realize how lucky I was to live in a time when common sense was common.
