    Step stool.

LOML ask me to make her a step stool to use in the pantry. Well a little Maple, some time and here it is. I took the plan from Woodsmith Vol 31/No.183. I don't ever trust a printed plan but I will say this about this one. I worked the complete plan out on my own and I added a couple of very minor changes. One of the best thought through plans I've ever used.

Looks good, Cork. I went the easy way and bought mine from Lowe's.

          That's pretty cool.
How do those automatic latches work?

Looks great to me. I will try not to let my wife see this. Still very good work.

Nicely done! You can hook it on a wall for storage and it won't take up much space at all. Looks sturdy too! Good job

The automatic latches are just rare earth magnets imbeded in the uprights. When you fold up the steps is automatically latches that step in place which keeps the whole thing together while moving or hanging up. I made the mistake of painting my metal part and the paint is flaking off. I would recommend leaving them just bare metal.

                  Thanks for your kind words.
