    Daughter's New Bath Vanity

My daughter and her husband are building a new house. They are installing a pedstal sink. She brought 5 pictures she wanted to combine into one vanity. She wanted a piece of furniture her POP'S had made for new home. Thats what she calls me. So we sit down and i hand drew what she wanted. Got lucky and found a 16 foot redwood post 25 years old. Thats the legs. The rest is white pine. Heres the pictures. Hope you all like it.

    4est,

That's one nifty bath piece you made. If your daughter doesn't wnat it, I'll gladly take off your hands. One great looking vanity.

Are you using a vessel bowel for the sink, re: the two different heights?

Very nice. I'll bet your daughter will be thrilled when she sees the final piece. Something special for their new house.

        Bruce,
Yes it is a vessel bowl. Being 63 the last day of the month, i'm not up on all the names for sinks and other stuff. Thanks for reminding me.

Great looking vanity. The different woods stand out nicely. Would like to see it with the bowl on.

            4est,

I got to admit I cheated, after the bottom fell out on the dot com's, I designed kitchens and baths at Home Depot.

BTW, I was 63 in July, nice to see us "old guys" still turning out good looking stuff. Also check out Kohler's web site, they have really nice bowls and faucets for yoour piece.

Very nice job, looks great! Thats a hand drill in the background! Do you use it much? Haven't seen one in at least 5 years.

              Good job.

                    cork,
Yes it is a hand drill. I have had it to long to remember. I use it alot, mainly for pilot holes for all hareware i put on a project. To me i have better results than with a electric drill.
                    Thank You 4est

My daughter and her husband are going to do that. Here are 3 of the 5 pics we worked off of. She told me the bottom will be green as in 1 of the pics and the top will be stained as the other 2 pics. When they get done with it i will post the pic. Also they are putting the knobs or handles or both on.

Very nice. I like the look of the redwood posts. Will they be keeping some of the natural pine color? I like the contrast.
