Bet Molly is having some fun now... very clever build and the good part is it doesn't require batteries or electricity. Kids could use more of that these days IMO!
The cars are made from scrap maple. Rough size of the block is about 1" x 2" x 3/4". Wheels are the 1" craft kind from the store. There is clearance on both "sides" of the car to allow for track clearance. Since this was my first attempt, I didn't know if the car would flip over like I wanted it too. I don't have a lathe so $1.50 on wheels, $1.50 on axels, and $5 on pine was a beter investment. The rest was scrap pieces and the structure is made from ripping down a 2x4
