    christmas gifts

Here are a few pens and pencils I turned this year for christmas gifts for one of the guys i work with. They are from scraps of hardwood left over from the different planes we built cabinets for this year. From left to right --- mahogany, birds eye maple, walnut, soft maple with a mahogany strip, and 2 from zebra wood.

Very nice indeed. I like the zebra wood 2nd from right the best. What is it like to work with? I have some that will become a picture frame some day.

Nice work! The personal touch of giving something you made yourself goes a long way. Every one of my clients has at least one of my pens... (Problem is, many of them don't even have jobs any more... ).

Very nice and especially nice that they're made from tid-bits and left-overs from a Gulfstream Jet... how close did I come?

        Regards...

Beautiful work. I especially like the birdseye maple one. I'm new to turning and hope to make some pens soon. Therefore, I ask, "Where did you get the plan for this pen with the constricted center?" Is it a kit? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks. And again, BEAUTIFUL work!

We have done work for gulfstream in the past but lately all of our work has been for a brazilian company, Embreiar. All the pens and pencils are made with the 7mm tubes and mechanisms kits. The shapes are all free hand designs, just basic turning shapes.
