    Yes, there is string inlay around the perimeter of the top. I got some mineral "beads" that are green with black streaks that I set into the top in the corners on a diagonal. They are about .5 X 1 inch in size, so the inlay kind of connects them.

          Beautiful work. Your commitment to the ambrosia maple really paid off. Like Sarge, I don't often see large pieces made out of this material, but it looks great.

          I like the bevel on the top very much. It makes the piece look less bulky than it would have otherwise seemed.

          I'd like to see the inlay, too. I've only just started some simple inlays and want to see everything I can. Yours sounds really intersting.

          +1 on the "outstanding" rating.
