    Corner TV Stand

I finished the corner TV stand that was taking up half my shop It's made out of red oak, red oak ply and Baltic birch (for the backs). I ran a zillion stain samples trying to match the IPE floor finally arriving at a 2:1 mixture of GF American Walnut and Warm Cherry. I now hate angles! It's definitely not fine woodworking but it's not a heirloom either. TV is a Samsung LN40A650

Nice and functional Gary.. That was a tight fit and the reason I don't really care for fire-places as they domineer a whole wall and dictate where everything (and especially a TV which does it's own domineering) has to go. I have often though about taking mine out just for that reason.

          Again.. you done good.

Nice fit, and a good color match.

Now you just need to convince the wife that a TV that's a couple feet bigger would be a better aesthetic match for the new stand. Something that blocks half the window and half the fireplace would be good

That looks good. I really like the look of stained red oak. Some folks, especially a couple interior designers I work with sometimes, think it's too common. I usually say "I bet you prefer melamine covered pressboard too."

Was the rubber mallet needed for installation? It appears to be a tight fit between the brick & wall.
