    Simple Box

    Hi everyone,

This is a simple box that I made for my niece. It is made out of red oak with a danish oil finish. The sides are rabbeted joints and I made the lid by gluing together two pieces and putting a rabbet on the edges. The flower on top I got at a craft store and glued on to dress it up a little.

Very nice, simple project that I am sure your neice will appreciate. But.. be very cautious as these simple boxes will lead to mitered corners with splines.. tapered lids.. contrasting woods.. hidden pin hinges.. etc. And when it does and it will.. just remember I told you so.

    Well done, Kevin.

It's very nice... But what's more important is that it's by and from you. You'd be surprised what something like that can mean to most people. Keep bringin' the generosity!
