Beautiful, Earl. Great figure in the cherry and maple.

Earl, that is just beautiful! I must know where you are finding lumber. I know there was at one time a small hardwood dealer in Wenatchee but never tried to find it. Is there one still there?

            Mark-

There is a small hardwood dealer here, Lombard's. They don't carry a lot of stock, but you can often find some interesting lumber. Nice people, and they have a full shop if you need sizing, etc.

I picked the stock for the front and back of this chest from a pallet of cherry they currently have. The end pieces came from a board I got at Woodcraft in Spokane, and the maple is some I brought back from Atlanta.

I'd be glad to send you Lombard's address and phone number by email if you'd like.

Thanks Earl, that might be helpful, although I'm not planning a trip up that way anytime in the near future. How is their pricing? Arm and leg for every thing? Are they open weekends?

I almost always drive to Windsor Plywood in Spokane when I'm in need of lumber as they are open 7 days a week and have a great selection as well as fair prices on red oak at least compared to what I'd pay if I stayed local.
              TIA

                Hey Earl,

After seeing that chest, I think I'm gonna go out and burn down my garage/workshop.

Anyone know if there's a market for toasted tools.

Wow, Earl, that piece is fantastic. And yes, the trimming of the piece exposing the biscuit didnt take from the design at all. beaut!!

Thanks again for looking and for the kind comments. I've decided to line the box with cedar using tongue & groove closet-liner planking to help keep the critters out.

That piece surely makes the effort worthwhile. Beautiful.
