    Serving tray

My wife asked me to make something for her mother as a birthday present, oh and can it be done for Friday morning.... today is Wednesday!

So I put this tray together as fast as I could... it turned out all right, considering.

Doesn't look like a quickie to me. What did you use for the finish?

I have had similar commissions from LOML. I like to take weeks in finishing, so giving a gift that smells of mineral spirits is not my preference.

Very nice tray. I can just see your mother in law serving up tea to her friends( or even a few glasses of scotch--sorry, that would be me). What wood did you use? Come on, share the construction details.

I did leave out some details, didn't I. It is made from some scrap Hickory. And the finish is the stuff I used when i re-finished the hardwood floors a couple of years ago... I was suprized there was still some in the can!

Good job, did it have enough time to air out?

Nice job on that. It would have taken me three days just to come up with an idea, and that might not work.
