    Yet another Rocking Horse

'Tis the season for them, I imagine.

On Thursday, my two year old son will find this parked under the tree with his name on it. Raw stock was "deck grade" bullnosed redwood 2x6 (from four 8-footers), rendered into the finished product, which I sealed with Verathane's "spar urethane". Saw pictures of something similar on the web somewhere, and decided to try my hand at reproducing the design (with artistic modifications, of course. )

A fun project - thanks for looking.

Good looking mount there, Bill, but I would suggest softening the edges more on the foot rests.

Looks great! I like the wood choice - it gives it a nice coloring for a horse.

          Very Cool

I am sure this new mount will be ridden into the ground by your son.

Thanks for looking, and the kind comments. The horse was a hit. This is my son, atop his new steed.

Nice job you did, Bill. I almost missed the thread. I have never seen one done in cedar it looks really good. I suppose it smells pretty good for a horse also considering..

                Well done...
