    Special Plane Shavings

As I glued up several pieces for mallets, I cleaned them up with a nice sharp plane. and ended up with an interesting pile of shavings (1st picture in this thread http://www.bt3central.com/showthread.php?t=41826)

LOML said the shavings were beautiful and saved them in a shopping bag. I though "oh no another pile of sawdust, saved for no reason." I would have swept them up and thrown them away.

Well here is what happened to the bag of "sawdust".

SWMBO has a very good eye for design. That is really clever!
I thought I was wrong, but I was mistaken.

I have provided similar cedar shavings to one of my SILs, who used a hot-melt gun to make little trees that serve as air fresheners. She "recharges" the aroma as needed with a little spray bottle of cedar oil she got at the store. I don't have the patience for a project like that.

That's pretty cool, and they are beautiful shavings.

That is unique and I like it but I am not letting LOML see it! I have too much to do as it is!

Now you've done it. Once all your wife's freinds see that, you'll be in the shop turning wood into shavings.
