    Boxes

Here are a couple of boxes I put together with some scrap trim and a couple pieces of Walnut. The boxes are about 4" X 6".

goes to show there is no such things as scrap timber, it is in fact timber in waiting for assignment/use!

    Nice work,

Very, very nice. I wish my "scrap timber" looked so good.

I cleaned out my scrap boxes yesterday. Maybe I need to go thru the reject pile again...

What did you use for the ebony color?

I used my air brush, and used a black water based paint, Autoair Black (http://www.autoaircolors.com/). I can get one color done with the airbrush but that is the limit of my painting talent

Great work on the boxes! I like the molding use and look - and your mention of scraps (I have no molding scraps) has given me pause to consider justification to purchase ( ) some coveted molding cutters to shape some of the Phillipine mohagany scraps I have left over from the current project into something useful in this vein.

Very nice. I need to dig thru my scraps and make a couple.

Very nice job. I was just getting to the point where I was considering throwing out a bunch of my scraps as they are starting to overfill the containers, this has given me an idea as to how to put them to good use rather than just firewood.

One of the next experiments is to try a bunch of of different finishes on the boxes. There are some interesting stains and colors I want to try. I will try them on a box project rather than experiment on some full size project. If I don't care for the results I can give the box away.

Very attractive with the contrasting lids and bottoms. Much scrap... too little time I'm afraid. But someday maybe. Need any tomato stakes in the meantime though?..

Beautiful work. They both look very good.
