That's beautiful, DM! I think it'll look really good with the cushion, too.

Nice work Scott. Looks better than the model. Bet that was fun doing all the sanding and finishing to all the edges. Lotsa time. They will cherish it.

Nice one Dust - love the quarter sawn showing on the stringer in the first photos. Good planning on showing that beautiful pattern.

Nice Job! I like working with oak. It is much less prone to burn than maple and cherry and the end result has character.

Your're work really does the wood proud, Scott. May I ask, how did you cut the long tenons on the arched lower stretcher? My brain says 'bndsaw' but I can't imagine holding it straight enough for the rip or the crosscut.
                    Blessings,
                    Chiz

Thank you, and you may! Note that the appearance of thru tenons are really just a faux finial detail. That actual hidden tenons are ~ 2" long and were cut on the TS using a Woodcraft tenoning jig (IIRC ), then cleaned up by hand with a chisel.

That is beautiful. I think it would be a shame to add a cushion. This is too pretty to hide any of it.
