Small shaker cabinet, what's it for?

We've made a few small wall cabinets in the arts and crafts design.
These small cabinets are handy for many things. We've made a wall cabinet
for my perfumes as well as this cabinet...can you guess what was the
    inspiration for this cabinet?

The cabinet looks great. I'm guessing it's to match the piece sitting under it.

As I said the cabinet is great, really set off by the stained glass in the doors. Did you make it also?

Looks a bit like a cupboard Norm built for a kitchen once, but I think that was more like a secretaire for CDs and the like. Very nice piece, BTW!

        Thank you Ray and Don.
The cabinet is 8" deep by 28" wide x 34" high.
I came up with the three door design cause on the right side it opened into the
bay window and I didn't want the door blocking the window.
On the left side I had to keep the width to 28" cause we have a French door that opens onto that wall
and I didn't want it to hit the cabinet.

This is my one of three of my favorite cabinets. This one I designed to house a 23"
flat screen tv in our kitchen. We can view it from the table and from the stove...
The head cabinet guy wante to make sure I could still rattle those pots and pans!

First we made the bottom cabinet for our cookbooks, and I had a 15" flat screen tv on the cookbook counter...
then one day, I got the idea for this cabinet and started sketching. We went out first and measured
the height and width of tv's and 23" was the max we could fit.

Yes Don, we do stained glass, another hobby we enjoy together.
We work a lot of stained glass into our cabinets.

That is clever! I would have never guessed. I like it. I like the stain glass,
          too.

Maybe I'll build something like this so my wife agrees to finally get that
          flatscreen TV.

Very attractive to match the decor, Joanne. That's one of those 21st Century Shaker's with the crown molding at the top to match the room decor. I have to assume you have a "Shaker" flat-screen TV also?

                    Well done...

                      Thanks gentlemen.
Sarge, I believe it can't be classified as a shaker TV since it has football on it.

I'm not sure what shaker molding is suppose to look like. This molding is kinda
plain. I much prefer the moldings we did on late projects that have more detail,
even though a real shaker would consider this cabinet to be "too proud"

I have another cabinet that I want to show off that's in the same room, it's
a pantry cabinet and wine cabinet all in one. It is a multi functional cabinet, as it also houses
a pull out draw on one side for the toaster oven, (which operates without
having to take it out of the drawer) and it houses an under the counter freezer as well,
cause our bottom pull out freezer draw is too small.

Our kitchen is not big, it is an 8 x 10 galley kitchen with an attached 9 x 12
breakfast area. When I designed the kitchen, I packed as much into it as I could.

Our kitchen was completed in May 06, then we took the summer off and went back to the
finishing the breakfast room in the fall of 06...This gave me the entire summer to decide what kind of cabinets I wanted.

This is the pantry cabinet with the attached wine cabinet. The pig cabinet is a food pantry
and the left side is a wine cabinet.
We designed and made it to
fill the entire piece of wall we had. I also worked on a hummingbird stained glass design that I wanted. I worked on the drawing for 3 weeks and was about to cut the pattern, when Cliff said, "Joann make pigs, like the pig plate on the wall!" So, in about 2 hours,
I had the pigs drawn up and the pattern cut. Sometimes it happens that way, last minute stuff is better than planned out stuff Plus we used all the glass we had on hand in the workshop, so in one day these little windows were completed.
The attached wine cabinet hold 8 bottles laying down and holds about 6 bottles standing up on the bottom shelf. This is where I keep open wine bottles, and Tequila...The little drawer holds my rolled up bamboo place mats.
We made this cabinet both top and bottom, before we made the tv cabinet.
Thanks for looking...and I hope you like it.
I will go find a photo of the bottom cabinet showing the inside of the bottom cabinet.

This is the freezer, we made the cabinet height higher than the norm by a couple
of inches to accommodate the freezer. The freezer sits on the tile floor, so we can roll it
out for cleaning underneath, also the head guy worried about leaks and ruining the cabinet floor if it should leak.
The right side has three pull out drawers, the top drawer is for the toaster oven. It always looked so crummy sitting on the counter so we made it so that we can use it by just pulling out the drawer. The two bottom drawers are for the pots and pans...this is where we disagreed..I wanted them deeper and the hear cabinet guy said, they should be shallow...well, it turned out he was right cause I have a lot of overhang leeway with shallow drawers.
