We needed a TV stand for the bedroom to go on the dresser. It is made of oak plywood with lock miter joints and the middle shelf is in a dado. I used oak veneer to cover the exposed plywood edges and used a walnut stain. I left the extra space above the cable box for the heat from the cable box. I am fairly happy with the results.

Looks like it gets the job done nicely and efficiently. Great to be able to come up with a custom piece of furniture!- David

Good solution! I'd hate to think what you'd have to pay for something like that from a furiture store.Larry R. Rogers

Luckbox,
How did you like using a lock miter bit on the plywood? I've only used it on hardwoods and softwoods.ErikComment

When I had the plywood up on edge there was quite a bit of splitering. I did 4 passes to get the final depth and made a push block with backer to minimize as much as possible. The worst splitering ended up being on the upper edge which is not really visible once I put it together. With the work piece flat on the table the locking miter worked pefect, no splinntering at all.I love lamp.Comment

Nice work indeed. I also wondered about the lock mitre on plywood. Not something I would have thought of doing.David
