We just gave the plaques to the boys and here are the pictures.http://s267.photobucket.com/albums/ii299/i82much55/
I wanted my son's plaque to be unique so I used Bloodwood for the sun.
During this project, my "least favorite thing to do" changed from sanding to finishing.
In the past I'd use an oil based poly, and just put a tent over the peice to protect it from the dust and allways had good results.
Now with this water based poly. it seems like it would be set up as soon as I applied it. No matter what I'd do, or use, I couldnt avoid getting "brush marks
Now I'm working on an Eagle badge. It's a good thing I have 4-5 years to get this done, cause this one will a diffucult one
Is there different colored epoxy? I figure that the lettering will be to small for me to inlay, so I'll fill them in with epoxy.
If anyone has any suggestions or links to epoxy, Id appreciate it

This isn't much help but there is colored epoxies, a place where I used to work used them. I believe they added color to white epoxy. I don't remember what brad they used or where they got it. a quick google shows many sites that offer colored epoxies.
