Between throwing my back out, kids coming home for visits etc this chair kinda got put on the back burner. Spent this weekend getting caught up a bit.
First thing was to lay out and cut the seat slats.

Seat slats are 1.5 x 1.5 white oak. After the slates were cut and rough sanded next was a dry fit and sanding with 80 grit to get everything evened up for the touche.

Fitting the back rails and slates was next.

I'd previously fit up the rockers but not with the front and back legs glued together

This turned out to be partly my fault when putting the patterns onto the rocker blanks. But even after making new rockers this morning and following the directions to the letter everything was still off by a 14". I checked this time before cutting the rockers. I just adjusted the pattern pieces refaired the cut line. My rockers don't look like the pattern but the legs fit correctly and the whole thing will work fine.
This is the frame glueup.

Well, here is the fat old man and his new unfinished rocker.

And without the fat old man.

Tomorrow after work I may get it down to a friends spray booth for finishing. Pat
