You better be careful showing it off to friends and relatives, you'll being building a bunch of them. Congratulations, really nice workmanship. That is a heirloom piece.

Wonderful job. I made the same chest years ago for my mother out of oak. I was thinking about doing the same one for my daughter. After seeing yours, you have convinced me to do it.

PS. I can't remember what issue that plan came from. Could you refresh my memory? Thanks

                      Chabin,
I purchased the plans from Plans Now at this url http://plansnow.com/blchest.html the cost is $7.95 and the plans are excellent with great detail and explanations.

The hardware kit that the plans reference is no longer available. I purchased mine from Woodcraft and it took some trial and error to get the correct hinges and mortise lock.

The plans don’t show the top friction sliders but I strongly suggest them because the top is very heavy and could injure little hands and fingers if it came down on them.

                      Thanks for the nice comments.

                        Thanks everyone

for the nice comments. I really appreciate all the positive feedback. I have built several pieces over the years but this is the first time I have shared any pictures with other woodworkers.

I respect everyone on this forum and your opinions are very important to me.
