Rocking chair in process, Take II

Yesterday and today I had to split my time up alittle so I didn't get quite as far as I thought I would.
All parts have been cut to final size save for the seat slates.
I label my parts with kids sidewalk chalk. Next step was to adhere the patterns to the parts and cut them.
These are rails and back slates. The easiest way to I've found to get the patterns off is a paper towel soaked lightly with mineral spirits, A quick swipe and in a couple of seconds the paper peels right off. Another swipe with the paper towel takes the rest of the spray glue off.

Back slates and rails have been cut and routed. Drilled the mortises prior to routing and made my first screw up.

Should have used the fence and not just the pilot bearing. Bearing had no place to ride. I'll hide it
Two things in the plan that I don't like, one is the arms look too thin, I changed those easy enough from 3/4" to 1". The rockers are a different story. Plan calls for 3/4" and the legs connect to the rockers with a saddle joint. Looking for a way to beef up the appearance of the rockers. Any reasonable idea you may have would be appreciated. One idea I had was to add a 1/4" piece on both sides, maybe a different contrasting wood.

This may be it for a few days. Oldest son is coming home for the weekend and I'm taking my grandson to Atlanta next week to see that big "cement pond" they built to put fish in. Pat

Thanks for the posts, I enjoy the in progress updates. I picked up the same Wood issue after your initial post. This project is now on my "someday" list.
