    Another Quilt Rack

But my first one with Cherry. This is actually my first larger project with cherry. A lot of fun to work with.

Taking Drumpriest's advise on the finish, the cherry really came to life. This is finished with 1 coat to clear Seal-A-Cell and 4 coats of Arm-R-Seal.

Nice, clean, simple lines. Nice! Cherry is a pleasure to work with.

Very nice work, Eric. I can't see as well anymore.. are the rails tenoned into the end main-frames?

BTW.. you might want to take the rack inside the house... the quilts will get wet hanging on them out in the yard..

              Regards...

yes the rails are tennoned and glued into mortises in the sides. I figured I'd make a 'few' of these so with the first one I made a full size template. It helps precisously line up the mortises on the right and left sides as well as the correct size. I use a plunge router with a guide bushing to make the mortises, they also go really fast this way, no measuring! After I trace the shape I mark the board "Left Inside Front" like the template says, flip it over to do the right side and mark it "Right Inside Front"

You have discovered templates which points out you are a very smart man. MDF is cheap and if you mess up on it.. just do it again in lieu of on expensive stock..

Again... nicely done and I will add at this point... smartly done!

Very nice. Now someone has to get to work on a custom quilt!
