    Its Finally Finished

    Well,

After more time than it took to build the Empire State Building, the infamous pain in the butt desk is done.

I wonder what I'll do with all m new free time. Got some great plans for a Mission Style Grandfather Clock. That should take me into the next decade.

    Anyway, here's the photos.

Feel free to comment, remember, I know where most of you live.

Materials are Maple, Maple Ply, Cherry, Cherry Ply and about two pounds of my skin.

Hope you like it as much as I do .

BTW, thanks to Cab and the rest of you who helped me out when I was stuck.

Hooboy, that is sweet, Bruce! The details on the top and the doors are beautiful.

I am particularly envious that you seem to have measured the cabinet so the printer fits. My printer sits on the desk.

    Nicely done!

Looks fantastic and I love the inlay on top. Also looks like it was made to serve the function of what's sitting on top. Not too fussy with a touch of modern eloquence.

Slow... nah.... just a man of great detail.

Excellent and I'm sure you'll enjoy. When will the chair be ready?

        Regards...

Very nice indeed! I like the way you used the glass door on the drawer side. I really like your choice of computers too!!!

Dammit... just as I opened this thread, the LOML walked by and she said, "Those are the doors I'd like on the entertainment unit!".

The desk looks great. Any chance of getting a look-see at the details of the muntins and glass attachments?

Thanks for posting the great pics.

Very nice, reminds me of a smaller version of the one that I built. Took about 6 months or so, and was a pain. And I'm sitting at it now.... You should be proud, it'll serve you well. The slide out printer is awesome, I enjoy mine quite a lot. No dusty.

That is very nice looking work Bruce. You did a great job on it. Now you need to build a chair to match it.

The combination of frosted glass, mullions and the Cherry plugs work great together and made the face view fantastic...Until I saw the top!

As beautiful as the front of the desk is, it pales in comparison the the framed Cherry top and inlays!

Great job Bruce! How did you assemble the mitered top? I am curious if you have to worry about the miters opening up?

That's very nice. All of us "Mac addicts" should have a desk like that to place our computers on
