    Finished Turnings

These are a few I just finished. I like the red and white one the best so far. It is maple and purpleheart.

All of them look great but I like the red and white one best also. You did a great job on the glueup, I haven't tried segmented turning yet but it's on my "to do" list.

Very nice job. I like the red and white bowl, but I think my favorite is the taller one (vase).

They all look very nice indeed. I like the glueup on the red and white one but the vase is my favorite also.

            Thanks

Thanks for the comments, I am really enjoying turning. I learn something new every time. (like did not know shaving could come off so hot) Seems the turning is only one task. It is nice to make something getting to use many tools in the shop and finish it in a day or so. I think I am hooked. I am getting ready to make a 9" wide X 4 1/2
deep 6 sided segment bowl. Maple and purpleheart. That is about as big as I can go on my jet mini. I will post it if I don't mess it up.

All three are beautiful. I also like the bowl with purple heart. I like almost anything with purple heart...

                Great work!

That bowl is AWESOME! The other two pieces are very nice too, but that bowl is something special.

Very nice. I agree the bowl is very eye catching, but I do like the vase a lot too.

What kind of glue do you use for your segmented turnings and do you worry about creep?

                      Nice work.

They look great, but especially like the segmented red and white

I am using titebond II glue. It does creep and slide a bit. I just take my time. I have been using barbells to clamp the rings together. I just made a little press for the next bowl. I am hoping this helps and make this stay lined up better.
