    Lathe is working again

well, I got the replacement tool rest in finally (only had to wait a month). So I got busy.

    1) Modified Chrome Slimline (single piece blank) dressed in Bethlehem Olive Wood. I messed up as the nib end is fairly off center. But it was fun and I'll be fixxing the problem on future pens.

    2) Titanium Gold Euro dressed in Cocobolo. Commissioned Piece.

    3) Chrome Cigar Set dressed in Desert Ironwood. Commissioned Pieces. I wish a picture (even a good one unlike mine) could do these justice. The Desert Ironwood looks great and as you move it in the light it has flecks of copper in the grain that show then disappear.

    4) Chrome Sierra dressed in Lignum Vitae. Loved the smell (almost like citrus) while turning. Extra Tubes in Amboyna Burl, Desert Ironwood, Dyed Box Elder Burl - Wine, Spalted Mango, Canarywood, and Irish Hawthorn.

    5) Titanium Gold Euro Fountain Pen dressed in Purpleheart. I shortened the Upper tube by about 1/4 inch as I didn't like the appearance with the stock tubes. Commissioned Piece.

Pending are Two Curly Maples in a matched set, but the client wants it stained and I want to show them a sample (Walnut Danish Oil) first as it's a sentimental piece of wood (person who gave it to them passed away). Then I have 7 more to order for more commissions.

Beautiful and functional - my favorite kind of project. What's the purplish one in pic 4? Is that the wine or the dyed box elder?

        Both.

        It's

        Dyed BEB - Wine

        as opposed to

        Dyed BEB - Blue
        or
        Dyed BEB - Brown

It was a freebie blank from Arizona Silhoettes

He has more colors that I can count.

Of course it is. I missed the hyphen there.
