    Entertainment Center

This is a completed project for a customer.

The material is knotty pine with a teak stain.

I actually like to work with knotty pine and like the look.

    Thanks for looking.'

I'm with you on pine. Nothing is as "homey" as knotty pine. Great looking piece. Pat

Very nice work indeed. I also like to work with pine. My in-laws have a cabin and I've done a few projects for them out of pine.

Fabulous work. On the pine, I think the finish is what makes all the difference in the world. Your teak stain really gives these pieces a distinctive, rich look which I really think accentuates the quality of the wood.

        Outstanding work!

Yep, a very nice piece. I grew up in a room with knotty pine wall boards and still have a fondness for it.

Nice set of cabinets, Al. Knotty pine has one of the warmest looks there is.

When I was 14 my dad and I covered the den walls and ceiling with t&g pine. 44 years of aging has only added to it's beauty.

Are the bookshelf (upper) & cabinet (lower) seperate or 1 piece?
In your opinion, is there a preferable way? Obviously there is a weight to stability to construction issue, but which do you prefer & why? For extra credit: what does 'bottled in bond' mean

                  Answer To Questions

The unit is actually six pieces. the bottom center, two end cabinets and then the three upper cabinets.

I have found it better to use a modular system, especially in large units. It makes shipping and installation much easier and safer.

Also by doing it this way the entire piece is very strong and will stand the test of time.

The trim is always installed after the units joined on site.

As far as "bollted in bond" It refers to the way american wiskey is made.

                      stain

                      Crash,

The stain was a wipe on made by ZAR.

Looks great - thanks for sharing.

I grew up with knotty pine in our kitchen. Reminds me of bacon and eggs and cream of wheat.
