    Chest of Drawers

This is a chest of drawers for my soon to arrive grand daughter. Wood is local cypress, except for the back and drawer bodies. Finish is Olympic antique cherry with three coats of Minwax Polycrilic.
The legs are a glue up, front rails are morticed into the legs. Drawer fronts are bookmatched 3/8" cypress (didn't have any boards wide enough to do anything but the top) and didn't want to just edge glue mismatched boards.

Great looking project, and well executed too! It's nice to see some different woods used.

I like it alot. Nice layout of the wood figure and good colour for the finish.

                      Pat,

That is really nice. Obviously a keeper. She will take that with her when she leaves home.

Be sure that her parents anchor the chest to the wall with a nylon strap hanger, screwed into a stud. Little ones often get hurt climbing the drawers or opening too many drawers. Also, are there stops on the drawers to stop her from pulling a drawer all the way out? Both happened to my youngest. Luckily he wasn't hurt.

                            Pat,
That is gorgeous. I know that your granddaughter will love it. When our twins were born Marks father made them each a dresser also and they love them to this day.

Beautiful work and I love the finish of those.
