    fresh turnings

well, to practice my turning technique, without having to spend money on pen kits, I've been making wands (Harry Potter like) from some of the scraps I have around. This is what they look like.

From Top to bottom we have: Eucalyptus, Padauk, Walnut, Cherry, Elm and Pecan

I've sold 3 of these (wenge, walnut and maple) on ebay for about $10 each after shipping. Not going to break the bank, but they are scraps and pratice material so they are letting me buy more materials.

If at first you don't succeed, deny you were trying in the first place.

Hey, great idea! And they look great!

I think I'll go give it a shot with some scraps.

Great looking wands. I need to start doing something beside pens only! That kind of motivates me to try some "O'hashi" - uh . . Chop Sticks! Some of the good hand made ones are expensive - but they are lacquer coated!
