    Candle stand

Just finished this and thought I'd share. Nothing spectacular but it is from a drawing of an original in Old Salem NC., that was made around the early 1800's. Quite an enjoyable little project.

Looks pretty good to me. What kind of wood and what did you use for a finish?

Nothing spectacular about it at all... You are so full of it! Very nice work, I'd take it in a heartbeat.

Very nicely done. I see a small hint of grain in the left most pic, wish I could see more of it. It appears to be really nice wood. What type of wood and finish did you use?

Yes, well done, and please do give us more info on the material, finish and process. I always enjoy reading that sort of information about nice projects such as this.

Thanks to all for the kind words. The wood is cherry, and it's got (all finishing purist please close your eyes) Zar cherry stain with satin poly finish. I know cherry darkens with age, but to me Zar gives the most natural finish I've found for cherry. Also, I don't usually use poly for indoor pieces except possibly for tables and counter tops that may be subject to water damage.

                        Again, thanks to all

I agree with Brian everythings been said ........ looks great! I like to stay away from stain, but who can argue with your results!! Looks excellent to me.

I like it a lot. The legs are particularly interesting to me. They have an interesting, almost delicate shape.
