Cabinet Doors Finished with HF HVLP/Resisthane

Here a couple of pics of the doors I am doing. These are ready for installation on the cabinets. The wood is Goncalo Alves with two coats of Watco Danish Oil followed with 3 coats of Resisthane Plus (Satin). They actually have more of a semi-gloss finish. The HF HVLP sprayer and the Resisthane has been very easy to work with. I even touched one of the doors while wet (DUH) and it was simple to correct. Sanded lightly, one more coat and perfect. Sorry about the quality of the pictures. The doors actually look better in real life.

    Rags,
If they look better then they have to be BEAUTIFUL because they look exceptional in the pics.

All I can say is that they look absolutely great. You should be very pleased. Looks like you got it down to a science. I like the wood too.

That's great looking work. The goncalo alves is pricey, but sure shows off well.

The wood is $7.50 per board foot. I still have approximately 50 doors and panels left to make. We have $4,000 tied up in materials for the kitchen which may sound like a lot but the estimate we got from the Borg to do the kitchen in maple was $16,800 so we are way ahead of the game even with the expense of the goncalo alves.

I could not be happier with the way this is turning out. This is my first attempt at doing cabinets so there has been a lot of times where I have been really nervous. Especially the finishing.

Alot of the credit for my success can be attributed to members here on the forum. Looking at many of the jigs that folks have made has given me lots of ideas for my own jigs which have helped immensely. Not to mention machine alignment and finishing tips. Wouldn't have happened without you members. Thanks.

PS: The wife likes BIG kitchens. Jeesh! But, she bought me a lot of nice tools.
