    Knife Display

In another life, I used to collect pocket knives. These knives have been sitting in a drawer for 15-20 years. I decided to put them on display, so I made a few "shadow" boxes. I have never been too great at making 45º miter frames, but these came out better than earlier efforts. Someone suggested using clamps to hold the wood as it's being cut - that helped quite a bit actually.

    Those look pretty cool.

My son has been asking me to make him something similar, how did you mount the knives?

I wound up using Heavy Duty Velcro. Originally tried using some 'stretchy' monofilament that my wife uses for bracelets. It was thin enough, but I couldn't tie the knots well enough. The Velcro worked pretty well as long as I used continuous pieces (not smaller, leftover cut pieces), and it was much faster than the nylon line routine.

Those look good. I love to collect knives and I have quite a few of them. I need to make some displays myself.

That is a very nice way to display your collection.

Slick display, Nick. At first I thought the knives were inset into 'pockets'.
