    Entertainment Center

I made this entertainment center a few years ago in basement workshop. Yes, it was heavy A friend and I moved it up two full flights of stairs. I built it from a plan I bought from Rockler, but modified it somewhat to fit a small pair of speakers in tops. Someone donated the "bridge" that spans the two towers.

That looks pretty sturdy. Nice job!

A entertainment center is on "my list" of things to build for the new house. I've been messing around with sketchup trying to come up with a plan that will fit between my in-wall speakers.

Can I be a pest and ask you to post a picture of the bottom moulding on your entertainment center?

I'm working on one myself and the darn detail of what to do for a bottom molding has me stiffled...

OK, I'll take some pix later tonight. On the two towers, I think I just used 1 x 4's mitered on the corners. On the TV stand in the center - I recall using some sort of beveled cut that hides the casters.

            Bottom Moldings

OK here are some pix of the bottom molding. That center section was made from two pieces of wood, then glued. That design (which was in the plan) hides the casters that would otherwise be visible from the front. The front and side molding for the 'towers' was just 1 x 4, mitered at the corners. Hope this helps!

Nice design, Nick. I like the doors on the speaker sections.

I like that design, and it looks well-built.
