    Latest projects (thats plural)

Had a few co-workers ask me to make a few items. . .not in my normal repertoire. . .

First for a very senior co-worker, he asked for a name plaque. Simple. He will put a pair of devices we wear on our uniforms onto the sides and have a plaque made up at a local shop. This is his 5th command as the Command Master Chief (Navy for those who've never heard of it.)

Just a simple 16x3 base with 14x4 and 1/2" coves cut out all around then a 45 on one long edge of the 14x4. Golden Oak stain with a double shot of semi-gloss poly.

Next is a combo coin-rack, shelf and triple bat holder. . . Three bats can hang by their handles down from this once he mounts it on the wall in his office.

I decided to try something a tad different on this one. Twin rows in the front about 1/4" deep and 3/16" wide at a 10 degree angle for the coin rack part. Decided to go from front to back on the sides also at a 10 degree angle w/my incra miter. Went with a very dark stain I let sit for about an hour before wiping off and also followed up with two coats of semi-gloss poly.

I know they're not spectacular, but both were made from scrap around my garage. . . Thanks for looking!

So you haven't exactly been sitting on your "Duff"!

Nice job...I sure hope those bats are gonna be ash or maple, and not some metal that goes "ting" when you hit with it. ...guess you could say I'm a "crack" addict!
