Drawer dividers for the new kitchen.

LOML has been wanting better drawer dividers for the silverware drawer (old one did not fit the new drawer), so yesterday I resawed some 4/4 Hard Maple that has been laying around in the shop for almost a year awaiting a project. (Fall-offs from work). Got them sanded down to 3/8" and 1/4" as needed.

Today I was in the shop making a few countertops and managed to get things cut and glued up while I was in between glue drying on the countertops.

A lot of small dados and plenty of glue. Fit like a champ and everything seems to fit in there. First time making one of these out of hardwood, took me a while to figure out how to get everything together with glue & clamps.... No 'bottom' to the divider so there was nothing to align the pieces to except sheer luck in getting the dado's in the right places.

    Thanks for looking.

I get a lot of short cut-offs from the dumpsters at the cabinet shops on my route. Thought about doing the same thing with some of them. Never considered not adding bottoms to them but it seems like a good idea.

Nice fit Stan. Maple looks good in there. I recently did one for ours and I know what you mean about small dados, and no bottom, and clamping. What did you finish with?

That is nice. I need to do that to one of my desk drawers.

did you put a bottom on them or just the vertical dividers?

Just vertical dividers, wife preferred not to have any additional space taken up with a 'bottom' for the divider.

That just goes to show that even "simple" projects can be done with style and elligance. Great job on the fit and finish.
