    Bulletin board / shelves

My older Daughter needed my help me to hang a bulletin board she had in her bedroom, but some how it did not look right, so, I asked her to bear with me for a couple of days and I came up with this simple design. I did use her bulletin board though.
Is made of birch ply, and pine edging. Stained with cherrywood minwax gel and wipe on poly for protection.
We just hung it on the wall today.
She is very happy, and that makes me happy.

    Thanks for looking

Nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain't you. Lovely piece, and positively glows in its annointed place!

what are the dimensions? And did you butt-join the shelves or dado?

        Redhack
        the dimensions are 46" x 22" x 6" deep
The shelves are adjustable, I used a 5/32 drill bit and I cut the pins out of a peg board fixture.

        Thanks.

Nice work. A bulletin board in an office setting looks ok, but not in a bedroom. You came up with a great idea.

            bulletin board and shelves

Nice looking unit for sure. Gotta' love the adjustable shelves, best thing
for a shelf unit since sliced bread. The bulletin board will probably be covered
with her boyfriend's pictures and favorite rock star pics. soon enough!

That is Nice! And be prepared for your daughter to ask if she can take it with her when she gets married and has her own home. My girls all like the things that "daddy" made for them.

Excellent idea. You dressed up a humble bulletin board AND gave her more space for her treasures. Very much a win-win project.
