Clamp Cabinet - Shop Time is a Wonderful Thing!

It's amazing to finally sneak in some shop time - this project has been in the works for 'way too long to admit. But it's finally finished!

Birch plywood carcass with jatoba edging, rubbed on tung oil finish. The finish/flammables storage is temporary - a storage cabinet will be added as soon as I can get a bit more floor space cleared up.

    Here it is unloaded:

    ...and loaded:

Alas, my plans to do some other shop furniture this weekend were thwarted - I unfortunately let the magic smoke out of my DW733 planer. I think it's just the circuit breaker, but gotta drag the puppy in for service.

Anyone in Charlotte or the surrounding area willing to loan/trade some planer time?

    Thanks for looking...
    Scott

Sigh... I'm jealous - you got shop time AND a fine storage cabinet that has you nicely organized.

      Very nice.

              Ken,

Those are part of a project known as a slippery slope! They are from Knight Toolworks out in Oregon:

                Nice cabinet Scott!

I managed to kill the breaker on my DW733 as well a few years ago. Prior to that I had never popped it. Fortunately I had a replacement at work and haven't had a problem since. I wonder if they got a bad batch of breakers.

That is a very attractive piece of furniture. I assume you will be keeping it in your living room? It's too nice to be in a shop.

Nice job on the cabinet. Looks neat. And yes way to nice looking for the shop but I bet that's where it'll go. I hope your planer is OK. That would pretty much suck. I hate it when a simply hand tool craps out.
