    chest-on-chest dresser

This is 99.5% finished. The only thing I did not do was install some drawer stops. At this point I don't believe I will. Photo below is not the greatest beacause of the resizing -- I hope the link below works. I created a shared album through Sam's Club with 12 images.

By far this is the most rewarding project I have made (think it even beats my canoe). First time I ever did half-blind dovetails for drawers. I followed the plans from Woodsmith magazine -- Vol. 21 / No. 125. Only their plan was for a seven drawer dresser. I only did six.

Wanted to thank a couple of members but of course I can't remember screen names (sorry, been a few months in the making). To those who answered my questions about moldings and how to properly countersink a screw I thank you!

    Ryan

      Looks GREAT!!!!

If you don't mind me asking. What wood type? What finish did you use? Number of coats? Why did you change the number of drawers?

                          Don't mind at all.
                          Red oak is the wood.
This piece was built for our bedroom -- we have a bed we bought years ago that we wanted to try and match the color with. I took part of the bed and several scrap pieces to Sherwin Williams. Two days later they had a pretty darn close match (I think our bed is white oak so it wasn't an exact match). I put on two coats of the stain followed by several coats of semi-gloss poly.

In the plans the very top drawer was actually to be two separate drawers side-by-side. I didn't want to lose any space and the double drawers would have taken up a lot more space than the single drawer.

                          Thanks for everyone's nice comments.
