    Walnut and Kingwood Jewelry box

Here is a box I just completed from Walnut with Kingwood front and Wenge handles for my mother in-law by request. The Kingwood veneer is actually 3 different pieces I edge glued and matched the grain pattern to appear as one piece. Just thought I would share but pictures aren't great was in a hurry to get it shipped.

Very nice. That looks too good for those to be bad pictures.

Very nice. Is the box made from walnut with the Kingwood veneer on the outside?

Thanks for all the compliments. The body of the box is walnut. I resawed a block of kingwood and veneered the front with it. This was my first attempt at veneering so it was a learning curve. The first panel I made warped from the grain cupping because the back piece of walnut was not thick enough.

I like the contrast in the grain patterns; very interesting
