    Rudder table wedding present

Nephew who's currently in Iraq is getting married in December. Since I'm not sure if I'm going to drive or fly to Indianapolis for the wedding I wanted to get this done early, I'm driving up there at the end of May for Dad's 81st birthday.
Plan came from a library book. Wood is ambrosia maple. Finish is three coats of catalyzed semi-gloss lacquer.

Wow. that's beautiful! Excellent Work. Your joints are such a work of art it's hard to tell if the sides fold down. I'm guessing so. The wood is incredible, I never heard of it before.

Great looking table. Excellent choice of wood. Very unique design. I should go to the library more often. You gotta carve your name and date underneath.
