Last week, our member scmhogg showed pictures of a crosscut sled he'd made, and challenged everyone to guess what table saw it was for. I happened to toss out the correct guess (a matter of blind luck, mostly) and was surprised when Steve asked me to PM him my address so he could send me my prize.
I did as he asked, but will confess that I was expecting some sort of joke certificate or gag gift. Imagine my surprise, then, when this extremely nice and beautifully crafted strop landed in my mailbox:
In the cover letter accompanying the strop, Steve explained that after learning the Scary Sharp system, he had become obsessed with honing ... and had thus made several of these. Materials are oak with mahogany trim, assembled with Titebond III. The leather facing is applied with hide glue, so it can be replaced as necessary.
Nice, eh?
Thank you again, Steve, for this most lovely and useful addition to my shop!
