    Jewelry Cabinet with secret compartment

Made this jewelry cabinet some time ago but was never happy with it so I added a new base that has a secret drawer. It is made from maple with a poly finish.

The base simply pulls out from the front. It is on wooden slides and when closed just looks like a base.

Nice work, you've elevated your work to a new level ~ lets hope not too many of the bad guys get to learn about this method of concealment!

I like the new compartment, very interesting. How does it stay shut? Are there catches? Or just friction?

Very Nice … spectacular grain in the panel above the drawers.

It is a snug fit and stay closed with no catches. I was going to place a magnet closure but found it was not needed.

Another outstanding piece, John. There is a small problem, however. It's no longer a "secret drawer". And you don't live that far from me.

Thanks a lot John, you've ruined it for the rest of us! When our better halves see that, we're all going to be out in the shop!
All kidding aside, that is a beautiful piece of work.
