    Cradle

Finally got around to posting a pic. Built this for a dear friend. A lot of firsts for me on this one. First time cutting curves, first time cutting mortise & tenons, first time dyeing wood. Learned a lot of different ways NOT to do something. Had to remake a few parts, couple of goofs here and there, but I think I hid them fairly well. Made of poplar, dyed with Transtint reddish brown, then a cherry stain, followed with several coats of satin Arm-R-Coat.

You have a real heirloom piece there, Andy. The bracket feet look awesome.

Thanks. That was one of the pieces I had to re-make. Figured I could use a 3/4" router bit for the bottom cut since it called for a 3/4" radius. But once I got to the radius part, the wood just shattered and splintered. Not sure what I did wrong, ended up using a jigsaw and sanding drum on my drill press.

That came out very nice. And that's a lot of M&T's for a first time I think (not done but a couple myself).

                              The fininsh came out great.

                              Well done.
