    business card holder

I like to do small projects, and this was really just a test piece for my finishing plan I am using on my headboard.

I did the writeup already on using dichromate, so check that out if you want to know where I got this color from. I took these pics in sunlight to show the effect off better. The pics taken under shop lights in the tutorial thread lack the depth that you see here.

This is just a cutoff of mahogany, with edges rounded on the bandsaw circle-cutting jig. I routed a shallow dado in the vertical pieces and ripped a narrow strip to fit it. So in cross section this resembles the letter h.

Finish is dichromate and homebrew wipe-on poly made from Minwax gloss poly plus naphtha. Thanks for looking.

Nice little card holder. Did you just glue the pieces together or use something else?

Thanks guys, it's just glue, no fasteners.

I may make a production run of these, my workplace has a craft show where you can sell craft items. I'll probably use a little bit thinner stock to reduce the chunkiness of it if I do that. This was a sort of one-off.

Hey, it actually looks like a miniature headboard-footboard! Nice work, Rob, on this and the tutorial.
