    Late Christmas Gifts

With bad weather, longer hours at work, and a few trips to SA on my days off in Nov and Dec I wound up giving mostly IOU's at Christmas. All but 2 got finished this weekend.

Oak CD holders for the 2 older Gransons and a cutting board for the DIL.

Mahogany CD holders for the oldest son and another cutting board for the other DIL.

Still to finish are a Display case for the some of the youngest son's eagle collection and a turntable for the Boss to use for decorating cakes. Weather permitting they will be done next weekend.

Then it's back to bathroom cabinets.

Nice... Do the doors slide back inside when open? If so what did you use to do it? I want to make some bookcases like that one of these days...

                            Thanks for the comments, guys.

The doors have 1/4" dowels near the top that ride in a stopped dado. There is another pair of dowels in the end pieces for the door to rest on when open.

                              Very nice, Pappy!

In the "Bookcases" book by Niall Barrett, there is a Barrister bookcase project where the doors operate exactly the same way. It's so cool to see it in a much smaller scale. But you definitely kicked it up a notch with a second pair of dowels!

                              Nice job!
