With Duct tape. What else? Well You could use electrical tape and possibly painters tape in a pinch. Painters tape would go good with the blue highlights.

Love the figure in the veneer. Are you going to use poly, or tung oil?

            eezlock,
I double checked the pendulum and it hasn't slipped. More than likely the frame has shrunk.

And after looking at it for awhile, I am convinced that a darker finish would be better. (Serious)

Along with using the red marker instead of the blue inlay.

I wonder if there is a use on this project for those 100lb drawer slides that I picked up at Lowes last week.

            Keep the suggestions coming...really helpful.

Yes, there is. Give them to LOYL and say, "The next time I say anything about showing a project prototype to those imbasilic moreon asshats on BT3Central, hit me over the head with one of these."

Add a Cuckoo Bird to the clock. Instead of coming straight out, have it slide up/down from the clock. In normal mode the bird is behind the clock, when it's making noise it slides up/down into view.

LOML is always telling me I take too long to finish things. But that looks easy enough even for me!

What did you use to finish that? Really pops the grain!

Is that "quarter cut" cardboard, and if so, where did you find it?

                      Used a similar idea recently.
My wife has difficulty figuring out room layouts, so when we re-did our family room, we laid down a tarp to figure out the best size of rug, then taped together newspaper to get an idea for the size of the couch, chairs and coffee table to place on the rug.

                      Have fun

You have to cut a piece of the pendulum or make the cabinet taller.
