    A little box

Here is the latest from the shop. It is a box for a friends daughters B-Day. It is Afirican Mohogany body with a Pink Ivory inlay and Walnut Legs.

This one has a lot of firsts for me.

Nice Otter. I like the way the top fits and the curves on the bottom.

wow! a really sexy little box, and a very rich gift.

can you give some details on how you finished it, specially the mahogany?

                        Sure thing....

First the stuff dose not like to hold a edge. It is a fuzzy wood, even given its figure. So most of the battle was taming the fur. After rasing the grain several times I used Enduro grain filler then sanded with a 400 grit and then sprayed with Compliant Enduro poly.

Nice looking box. I want to learn how to do inlays...perhaps a box is the way to start.
