    Marble chest D.O.D.'s New toy

Off the lathe for a bit. Back to toys This is another Cherry Tree Toys plan. There was a day when I wouldn't have had patience to do this sort of WWing but it's kinda fun. Probably 99% of this is scrap or leftovers. The main parts of the chest are white oak. the top panel and bottom are cedar chest lining leftovers. The drawer front is either redheart or bloodwood. There's paduk, purpleheart, rosewood, walnut, pine, bocote, cherry and maybe a few others... Hear is the link to the full boat of pictures http://bt3gallery.fhauto.com/view_al...lbum132&page=1

Pat, that is just insanely cool. If patience is a virtue, then you are nearing divinity!

How long did it take you to build it? What was the most challenging part to make?

I started this hmmm, the Friday after after Christmas. House was empty and I was going nuts..... didn't have far to travel
Probably the curved marble troughs up on the lid (routed them freehand) and for some reason the ramps (the mahogany and oak ramp in the back center). Still don't have enough consistancy on the springboard that makes the marble jump through the hoop that the seal is holding.
I've got plans for one more, a smaller one that will be coming up. Pat
