    Captains Bed

These are a few pictures of the Captains Bed I just completed for my son. It's a Queen size bed with six drawers under it. It was made from pine to match his dresser that he bought a few moths back. It took me three weeks to complete. I don't think it came out too bad for a blind man. LOL Leagley blind that is.Let me know what you guys think of it. Good and bad responces are always uesfull. Klik on pics to enlarge.
    Thanks
    Lance

Good morning Charger... (black sheep and bad boy of the Mopar "B" bodies)

Nice work and excellent choice of wood for a younger person. They have a tendency to be in a world of their own and their furniture doesn't get the thoughtful care an adult might exhibit. Pine can handle scrathes and dents and still look well dressed better than most species that would telegraph those defects immediately.

      Regards...

nice work. my only suggestion would be to cover the bolt heads.

here are a few but if you search for bed bolt covers you might find other styles. All you do is recess the hole enough to make the head of the bolt flush with the surface and these pretty much just hang over it and the pivot out of the way to remove them for disassembly.

                      Bolt covers

Thanks for the Great reviews. The bolt heads are to be painted Black by my son but he takes his time doing things.

Great bed. Is that your own design or did you work from a plan? Also, did you use drawer slides? or are those drawers riding on rails?

Very very nice work. I've built a few similar beds but none that nice.
Please do not take this as condescension but when you work do you use story sticks? Can you see the ruler, etc? I ask because my grandparents' place has a well-equipped workshop. One of the guys there can see light/dark and some shapes but not much else. He turns out absolutely wonderful work. He uses story sticks , a lot of jigs and a custom 8' rule that a machinist friend made him with raised numbering.
